made me remember why i voted for him back in the day  :y

thats why Douglas Hurd was rejected as leader of the tories after Thatcher - as an Old Etonian they felt he couldn't connect and people wouldn't vote for him - whats changed since then?

Yes I remember those qualities in his speeches........"well awlriiiiight",well awlriiight"","well awlriiight"........I was so embaressed I had to watch through my fingers. He was and always will be a hypocritical tw*t.He and his wife were fiercely anti european at one time,but they have both spent the last 15 years or so as european politicians on annual salaries well into six figures.
Up the workers, etc,blah blah,blah. ::) ;)
While we are on the subject of Rich socialists,did anyone notice Mandelsons £23,000 Rolex he was sporting at the "Labour" conference ? ::)

I was convinced a long time ago when I was younger and naive,his speech at conference in the 80,s about "the grotesque chaos" of the militant tendency brought me close to tears tbh.
I have changed my views dramatically since then and now view him as an utter waste of good fresh air. ;) ;D

Summed up then, and now, what Labour is.  Incompetent!! ;) ;)

As for Cameron and Eton; yes, we have heard it all!! ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)   But I'd sooner have someone with a fine education leading out country than some thick sod!! ;) ;)

Aah Eton bashing, grist to the mill of those socialists who find it impossible think outside the dusty vaults of the movement. ;) ;)

It does follow however the well worn path of some socialists - if you don't understand, don't wish to understand, have no capacity to understand or are just intolerant enough to understand anything of such an institution, deride it.

It’s what socialism has long practiced, better to destroy that which offers an alternative message, better to be part of a movement of similar truncated thinking, better to let others decide policy for you and better to look towards their own elite of party functionaries than take the chance to stand up and be counted as an individual.

Give me Eton and the Establishment over the likes of Kinnock and his ‘Champagne Socialist’ brethren every time.

Should you which to examine how true elitism is practised, just look toward any socialist/communist/Marxist state – old or ‘new’. :y :y
