So ....is global warming/climate change ...real and unimagined.....something that should concern us.....or is it as Nickbat suggests.......some rabid left wing.........conspiracy theory?.
As Nickbat states in his post.........the evidence is pretty ambiguous really.
I would say that I fall .....into the real and unimagined category.....far more likely than not.......I would say.
But Nickbat ......has an unending list ....of scientists.......climatologists.....to prove otherwise......Or does he?.
I believe that Nickbat has "cherrypicked".....statistics.....and infomation......which fit his "theory".........from his lengthy list of "mavericks"........who sit at the edge of mainstream scientific thinking.
Of course......I could be wrong......as could Nickbat.

Two points.
Firstly, I don't believe the evidence is ambiguous. The point that I was making in my first post about (the future of the planet...who are we to believe etc.) was poorly written, I admit. What I was trying to do was get people really stirred up about this. I think the general public are sleepwalking to disaster, not through global warming, but through being hoodwinked into giving up freedom, technology, wealth and all the other things we and our forefathers have strove to achieve. I want people to take a look at both sides of the argument. I have and that's why I'm sceptical. Too many people just believe what they are fed in the papers and on the telly. They need to wake up. It will COST us (see this link from today):
"Adherents of the world's major religions have urged UN climate conference attendees in Bangkok to renounce short-term gains and greed, calling the reversal of global warming a moral duty.
They called for roughly £1.2 trillion a year from rich countries, more than double what they have included in the current negotiating text." http://www.morningstaronline.co.uk/index.php/news/world/Religions-gather-to-urge-UN-agreementSo, if it will cost us huge amounts of money and the effective demolition of our economies and well-being, is it not our duty and that of our government, to ensure that it is all based on fact?
What if this professor is right?
"I am of the opinion that this is one of the greatest hoaxes ever perpetrated on the American people."Dr. William (Bill) Gray Professor Emeritus of Colorado State University on the manmade climate change theory.
Second point.
Do I cherry pick? Well, yes, but only to the extent that I generally focus on links which do not toadie to the man-made warming theory. If readers want such stuff, they need only read the Guardian or watch the BBC.
