Cruise on at 80 most of the way back, the only over takes i did were on trucks

In my mad days of travelling on the M4 between Bristol and London the average speed certainly was 100+, and I was one of those that had to keep up with the rest, or even try and get ahead!!

The M40 was where I did my 'test' runs in the 3.0 Elite, so I cannot say many people used to overtake me on that run!!

I'd like to do 90 but i get a little vibration from the wheel which is annoying, (its been WIM'd) plus it tends to use quite a bit of oil at that speed.

80 its smooth as silk and never uses oil.

Is that the hill from Princes' Risborough heading south? It was always rather pikey palaces that used to get me going up there  With 620 horses that hill was nothing even fully laden until Grandad Jones and his 6 berth pulled by a 1.4 Over 200 decides he wants the middle lane doing rather 40 mph

but my excuse is was used to a maximum speed limit of 40 kph (25 mph) a few weeks ago - on a dead straght road- mind you the speed cops had AK47's
