For the first week (I think) you are immune from attack so I concentrated on population and building in equal amounts timber, stone, iron and food but i've since found out you need more timber than the other 3.

Try posting up your city coordinates mine's at 296,187 and I've changed my flag to read OOF.
If you find the city you can click the message button to message I think.
