I have recently been accused of being too angry and told I should lighten up a bit.

Maybe that's good advice. 

But, then, I'm not as angry as Constantly Furious is about the cancellation of rail services today, thus denying many the ability to attend Remembrance Services. There again, as his name implies, he is constantly furious. Me? Just furious some of the time.

the company agreed  that sunday working is  not part of your contract and if you choose to work you will be paid overtime ,whose fault is that the worker or the management

£38k for a 4-day 35-hour week? If I were the boss I would expect Sunday working if rostered. This voluntary working deal is unworkable rubbish, IMHO.

the contract they sighned said sunday working is on  overtime rate , saves the company employing more drivers

every one should work for £5.00 a hour 
we all go to work to earn the most money we can

If you can afford to lie in then go to the pub on a sunday then of course you will. I bet most of the dissaprovers enjoy thier sundays off.

20 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 6 months, lie in till 9am on sundays if you are lucky.

No it's not Monty Python's Yorkshire Men, that's what the guys work over in Afghan.  Some are working in HQs planning and commanding, others are stacking boxes, some are plugging holes in peoples' bodies and some are dodging bullets.  It's all hard work regardless of where you serve in that country.

And I know that a lot of the guys and girls in Afghan are not on £38K plus Sunday overtime rate.God knows they more than earn it.Pity about the people that this did affect,but hey what do I know? As a former officer once said to me "You are a mushroom,kept in the dark and fed sh*t !"   After 13 years service so far not much has changed!

Yes there's nothing like ripping the arse out of it - sod everyone, I'm all right.

Was this condition an idea solely of management or did the union negotiators insist on it or something like it?

So much for essential services and the need to keep the nation running.

all train companys pay overtime for sunday working , it saves them employing more drivers ,
