bl00dy phone (mobile)
« on: 08 November 2009, 21:18:39 »

Last week I 'float tested' my mobile phone (Nokia 6300 - it makes phone calls!) down the pan!
It failed & sank!  :'(  :-?  ::)
So I whipped the battery out and left it for a couple of days in the cupboard where the boiler lives in the warmth.
I dismantled it, gave the contacts between the boards a clean with switch cleaner, rebuilt it, put the battery back in and gingerly turned it on and  :-/ ..... it sprang into action!!!!!  :y
It worked fine for a couple of days, and then nothing .....  :'( there was just the 2 lights on either side.
So ...... I dismantled it again, cleaned it it up with more switch cleaner, & thought WTF and blasted the guts of it with afore mention switch cleaner!   :-? amd it worked!!!
I've used it daily since last week and it still appears to work, only today I've lost my signal!  :(
How can I have lost all bars of my signal when it's been working great all week?
Suggestions on a post card please

Yes! I know... I need a new phone, but it's bugging me the fact it's been working fine for a week, & it still starts up OK but has no signal ...  :-?  :-?  :-?

As we know with head gaskets, water is very corrosive, its just taken time i guess.  :-/

Make sure the contact between the PCB and the antenna is making OK.
