You could've bought my car for that amount! I might have even considered a bit of change.  ::)  ;D and it won't need an exhaust ..... it's stainless.

£100 a month is cheap (as you now have 1 years motoring ahead)

Aye, insurance, MOT, tax - thats all you need for year, and all for £100 per month.

Mine is probably cheaper to run (fuel and tyres aside), but then I'm an old git with £270 ish FC insurance...

That's assuming nothing else breaks . . .

I just spent 220 for shocks and wishbones, another 90 for front brakes next week and 40 for alignment brings me up to 350.  Then I still need to do the EM gaskets and a few other bits.  Taking into account the last major repair session, I am running at about 100/mo not including insurance.

I have had a look at the estate today and I will need cambelt, tensioners, water pump, aux belt, wishbones and drop links, ive just bought front discs, pads and sensors, one of the rear shocks is a bit moist (god I love that word) oil and a couple of filter changes, breathers cleaning and a 4 wheel alignment. Its a good job I bought a big tub of copper grease it looks like im going to have to sell my backside to pay for all this :o

Yes but......shocks can be considered an expense spread over 100K miles....cambelt etc spread over 40K miles.....etc

There not items you have to do every year!

Hopefully won't be so much to do after the first year of ownership.  I also hope that it is worth 1,500 at the end, because I was hoping to only spend 1,000/yr except for insurance and fuel - but including depreciation.  That's with me doing almost all the work, but it's going to be well over that in the first year even leaving quite a few things broken.
