New windscreen
« on: 30 November 2009, 13:24:58 »

Just got a lovely shiny new windscreen fitted this morning. The original one had several quite bad wiper scratches on it that were annoying, it past the test with it, but I like a nice clean screen.

They did an excellent job at A1 Bee screens in Sheffield ( thought I would give them a plug if that's ok?)  £126.50 inc' vat.  :y

I also had a new one fitted by a local independent company a montha ago for the same price.
The big names who advertise on TV etc were quoting over £300. ::)

Sounds like wear and tear, not breakage. However, I'm sure that could have been arranged............. ::)

I normally have TPF&T insurance, never seen the point of spending a lot of money to insure a car worth a few hundred quid.I have just had my renewal notice however, and to upgrade to fully comp this year will cost an extra 3p  :o :-/.........so fully comp it is.

I've had TPFT quotes that were more than the comprehensive quotes. Think of it as a plus point of getting old(er)  :y  :y  :y

That's something I could do with too. There's nearly 160k miles worth of scrtaches/marks etc that are OK during the day, but are quite noticable at night in the wet ...... and it's a bit milky at the bottom, on the black bit.

I'd like a reflective screen if mine ever got chipped enough to fail an MOT!  ::)  ::)  ::)  ::)

There doesn't seem that much in it now between fully comp and 3rd part f&T. I get quoted £240 fc and around £200 TP. Might as well as go for £240 fully comp.

Ah thought there was a reason.
Mine is less than £400 for both miggys, but then I'm well over twice your age ;)
