Off to Machine Mart in a bit
« on: 21 March 2007, 11:36:30 »

to look for spring compressors and other tools for replacing shocks & wishbones.  Any last minute suggestions?  Looks like I need spring compressors, 18mm socket, 21mm spanner and socket, and the rest is going to be done with adjustable spanners.  (Including the spring compressors, they need 24mm or 1/2" drive.  I have neither.)

Machine Mart are in my bad books at moment, as my jack came through missing a couple of bolts (that I don't have any right size), and can't get them to send them.

I'm going there, so will inspect before leaving.

Do you want me to follow up on anything while I'm there?  Honestly, I'm completely bored out of my mind and will be there anyway.
Got it mail order, so probably comes from Nottingham, so probably not much they can do.  I'll PM you order number if they can sort out something locally?

I've been so busy arranging getting the MV6 straightened, and busy at work, I've only emailed them, not phoned them.

Well, just spent over £60 running around getting tools.  That doesn't even include jackstands or a jack!  In theory I SHOULD have everything I need.  That is if the shocks come in before the weekend.  :-/

I have a jack and some stands if nobody nearer to you has any for you to borrow.  I'm probably not around Saturday, so you'll need to pick up beforehand...

Thanks, shouldn't be necessary.  Timbuk is supposed to be bringing stands down.  I'm just going to use the car jack or a bottle jack.  We are doing it on Sunday, both of us are busy on Saturday.
