TD, now that some time has elapsed,

Did fitting a new coolant pump and sealing ring ever solve your very slow coolant loss?

And what is wrong with that?

Note: People being "not nice" to James will find the Admins do not take well to such behaviour....

Did fitting a new coolant pump and sealing ring ever solve your very slow coolant loss?

Its still leaking  :(

Noticed it when i did the brake pads/disks......little damp patch under the car when i had it jacked up.....then when i turned it round to do other side (coz parked in the road) little damp patch appeared again on the road  :(

Reminds me i need to get some more red stuff from vx dealer to top it up......havent done so since you changed the water pump.....but guess it could be getting low again in the coolant bottle  ::) If you remember the sensor is fubared so i must check it!

Can you identify where it's leaking from? Front of engine, back of engine etc....

Can't be too hard to diagnose on a 4 pot...

It leaks back of engine....i know peeps will say HBV....but im not so sure.....its due an oil/filter change in about a weeks time....so when garage has its legs in the air (wont do that myself....messy job....plus try doing it on the road....then you have to get rid of the old oil....worth the £20 in my book  :y ) I'll have a poke around.....im pretty sure its a bad water joint.....already found one in that area....loose jubilee clip....dont forget its been lpg'd so water pipes have been played with!
