hmmm, its all very well updating the os to something more up to date, but nout works with the new software. Tomtom only ever made symbian based software for nokia, so thats out.
(along with its traffic)
google maps, traffic tv, and all the other gadgets and gizmos you can download are out too. Very little available other than facec0ck and idiotter shite.
Should add, n900 has maemo based software. Totally new os. No apps for that.... yet.

I have some software for SYmbian. Navcore or something like that? Its 2006, and is on a MMC card thats can cut in half (Nokia thing apparently). If it will work for you, its all yours (I bought it for the bluetooth gps it came with, was cheaper than buying the GPS on its own).
Thanks J, Thats a kind offer. Trouble is the n900 is not symbian, its a maemo opperating system, which is (wait for it.....) lynux based.....afaik anyway.
Any symbian software wont work
pmsl, so even Nokia (Symbian's current owner, or have they sold it now?) don't use it. That about sums up how poor Symbian is.
this range ( n900 n810 n7??) uses maemo, always has, or has been lynux based at least, they have been internet tablets only up to now, this is the first of that range to include phone functionality.
Dont know nokias intentions re symbian, the recently released n97 still uses it. I wondered if they would advance maemo instead from here on and drop symbian.
You said yourself symbian is dead, or at least very old, maybe they they have recognised that fact. Maemo is even more customisable but alot less depth to the menus. Apps still a bit kidy winks though
You know your self nokia have a few os depending on the range of phones....series40 v series60(symbian) ? well now you know they have lynux based maemo.
I'm suprised you didnt rip into lynux as well tbh...
