when i was based near an oil refinery during gulf 1 we were ordered to go to the refinery to ask for a couple of empty barrels to make a couple of bbqs out of.
after an amusing discussion with the gate guard we were ushered up to a plush waiting room outside a huge gold endowed office. we were the told "the sheik will see you know". we entered the room to a row of full regaled Arabs all shaking our hands and offering us cigars and expensive looking watches. after the formalities we made our request for a couple of empty barrels which responded in a jaw drop from the sheik, as he was told by the gate guard we were representatives of the alliance government requesting a huge deal to be made for millions of barrels of oil. after the expensive looking watches were take off of us we were escorted out and sent to a store area where we were given two FULL barrels of oil and told not to return again. so they we nearly my best neighbours I've had !!!!
