Went out to help a lass push off an Astra this aft from being stuck in a small drift outside the front of my house.
Big fat git driving it, two big fat lasses in the car and none of them got out to help push their own car.
I said to the big fat git to put it in third and go easy on the clutch- he listened the third time - and me and this other lass managed to push it off and of he went with a cheery pip pip on his horn, windows down and all three occupants waving out the windows!

I turned to this other lass and said that I don't believe it (in a Victor Meldrew stylee) and she said that she's stopped to help and was going to tow them out with her Suzuki Jimny, but aparently, the big fat git just said "No ta" and sat there spinning the wheels in 1st and reverse gears until I got there. The lass (that had stopped), had got a shovel from her Suzy and was trying t clear the snow from the front wheels of the Astra - again, no help form the occupants.

Some people...............
 :o :o :o
I had a pair of young lasses push me earlier. Pretty little things.  I was nearly tempted to drive around the block, and get stuck again ;D

wee bit of pre determined stereotyping of 4x4 owners on here eh   ::)

Seriously though - not a lot beats powersliding a v8 Rangie in a foot of snow - neighbours house is still pebbledashed :D

As for pulling people out of ditches, not my job, admiral as is.

If you genuinely need a large 4x4, then I don't think you should have to pay a higher tax. :y

I cannot understand why anyone thinks they have the right to prevent others the right of choice. >:(
We have a 4x4 and that's what will replace my Omega when that time comes.
Pretty soon the roads will in such a state that they will be the only vehicle that can be safely driven.
All these "Prats " stopping to talk to each other or blocking the roads when they drop the kids off at school would do it with or without a 4X4.
Obnoxious Bad drivers are just that and come in 2 wheel drive format too.
The biggest cretin behind the wheel I've ever met drives a Audi B7 RS4 but that's not the car's fault.

The recent cold snap has made a right mess of the roads roung here. Powerful stuff water, when it freezes and expands.

Agreed entirely. 4x4 drivers are often car enthusiasts just the same as those who drive large "guzzling" V6 saloons, sports cars capable of travelling at "irresponsible" speeds, people who like to build their own kit cars, etc.

Those who would prevent 4x4 drivers from enjoying their vehicles would just as happily jump on any flavour of petrol head and have us all driving Trabants.

United we stand....

...and from a safety point of view, simply a must have for the mummy on the urban school run, to protect the kids in the event of a collision with one of the many large 4x4 go-anywhere, all terrain, off road vehicles that always seem to be around at urban school run time.

I find mainly people carriers when I drop my daughter off, quite a few newish hatches, the odd Range Rover and once a Porsche
