your not going to believe this, but our close, about 700 yards long, on a hill, has...wait for it... been gritted! by a gritter lorrie! owned by the council! faaaark me! :o 8-)

and, on the local news, some boffin mp type says there will be 20000 (or was it 2000?) grit bins purchased from emergency funds!...no grit in them, :-/ and the kids will start bonfires in them to keep warm, :( but hay, its something, right? :y

Did they mention delivery takes 4 months, or was it 4 years.   ;D ;D

We`ve been given a nice new shiny wheelbarrow and shovel at work to help out in the mini crisis and grit the footpaths and steps.....Grit bins are empty though as the locals have been nicking it to grit their drives and footpaths.....PMSL ;D ;D

they'll probably arrive a week after next years snow, or if before, thek kids will use it empty as a tabogan, which is probably what happened to the last one.

Now chance of council ever gritting my road.  But then it is a cul-de-sac ;D


Still looks white out there, so I've closed the curtains and chosen to ignore the weather
