On the way into work you can see the state of the road as the ice unfreezes. With a few lorries going up and down there each day I give it a couple of weeks before they are near craters!

certainly glad i didnt put my new new trinkets on, deliberately left it as a job for spring, with the snow comes increased risk of hitting a kerb or worse, and now pot holes turning up all over the place there is a good chance bending a wheel.  >:(

Plus should give me time to save for paint and tyres...

Yep, happens every time we have a freeze, it was a huge bone of contention around here last year, the council had to fix them in alphabetical order according to street name(!) because there were so many, and did the last ones about 8 months later

When they start appearing report them to http://www.fixmystreet.com/

I've used them to contact my council on various bits rather than trudging through their website for a valid email.

And when we get our bikes out on the road again they will be lethal.Spend more time trying to spot and avoid the holes than concentrating on the driver in a coma who is about to kill you. >:(

You've just reminded me of the A414 out towards North Wield last year. I was heading to a walshy training day, I literally had to slalom in the MR2 in places to not wreck an alloy.

hard work isnt it, concentration, scan the road surface, back to the traffic, scan road, traffic. road, traffic and so on. A track is the only relief i found, then its so obvious how differant a disciplin it is.

Having said, that should really bo looking anyway, for rocks, bricks, diesel, mud, leaves, man hole covers etc, i dont need to tell you i'm sure.

you missed speed cameras off your list Chris. You are of course spot on regards the track though, but unfortunately a lack of funds prevents that being an option. And also prevents the 10 year old bogger being swapped for an R1 or 996. ;)

Great - UK has no money to grit roads - subsequent neglect increases pot holes which we have no money to repair.

Alloy wheels buckled suspension wrecked compensation claims to councils which they cant pay.

I know lets put up road tax as a solution.  :y
And get f**k all in return to repair the roads. >:(
