Getting the details the same can be difficult.  If they haven't de-valued your car and you have for instance.

"Voluntary" excess is another place where they can sneak in a reduction.

With Churchill this year for the first and last time. I sent them proof of no claims from previous company, (registered post). They sent me a very harsh letter a couple of weeks later asking for proof of no claims (otherwise me liable for extra premium). I phoned up and spoke to an operator and explained situation and said I didn't like the tone of the letter but I would AGAIN send my proof of discount. I expressed that I would not be renewing with them next year and she replied, "Well, that's up to you!"
"Nice attitude" I thought.

If you go for the T'internet one .. you will be a new customer with a different account number. As a new customer you will be given a "startup" discount ... In the "trade" this is called "churning" ... the companies then use these "new" accounts to boost their claims of gaining "new" customers .... but they never state how many they have "lost".

90% of the time you will get a better deal from a company by enquiring as a "new" customer than as an existing one.

I believe, but cannot find the list I got last year, that just 2 companies do not take part in this scam.....  they are instantly spottable, if you are with one, as when you enter your details on-line, as soon as you put your postcode in your existing policy renewal will pop up !!

I'm sure you're being frivolous but my experience with them was that everything they quoted was expensive and they mass-mail you like there's no tomorrow (and I guess there is no tomorrow for a lot of us! ;D ;D).

Have now got shot of them and will not be waking them up any time soon.

My renewal is comming up on the 9th Feb. I got the letter on Wednesday saying my premium has been reduced by €909.46 to €1,100  :D

Nearly 50% NCB after just the first year. It definatley pays to be a student sponging off everything.

A slight digression ......  ::)
My 20 year old daughter MSN'd me yesterday to ask if she could be included on the insurance of my crappy Astra TD this summer so that she & some of her mates could go to Glastonbury in it. She did say that her other mate's parent's had said NO!  ;)
She had already guessed that my answer might be the same!  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D :y
