Hope this is useful .. although you probably know already ..
Indeed I do. Unfortunately it's all out of my hands.

Best thing to do in the mean time is put people on to me at memsec@autobahnstormers.org and I'll send them an info pack.

Latest update on Autobahnstormers...........
NOTHING...................
e-mailed the addy that Entwood mentioned, ('twas the same as I'd already sent three e-mails to!!)
Also sent off a signed form, and a cheque for the £20, both on 6th Jan.
E-mailed again on the 12th.................
To date...........Nil, nought, nada, nothing..........

Seriously thinking of cancelling the cheque, and telling them where to stuff the membership, if that's the way they treat people!! (not that there appears to be anybody actually listening).....

Total waste of time and effort as far as I am concerned..... Might be worth warning others of the hassle this 'club' causes  >:( >:(

A bit harsh I think, but I do think you've been given the $hitty end of the stick. It is usually & has been a pretty painless opperation joining the club ..... or it was about 10 yrs or more when I joined  :y

WHOA WHOA WHOA, SWEET CHILD O' MINE!!!!! :o :o :o

At risk of upsetting you, I'd like to say that the ABS Membership secretary has a full time job.
He's had a lot on recently due to people sending him work-related stuff to sort out as he probably got a sackful of mail in one go due to Christmas and the recent inclement weather.
Some people have sent to the old secretary, even though the name and address of the new secretary is clearly there to for all to see!
I admit, I wouldn't want his job plus being the membership secretary of the Autobahnstormers, so please, have a little think about your rather rash comments before denouncing the ABS!
The "club" has been going for years and many an ABS member has kept their car on the road due to advice, information and general help available through the "closed to members" internet forum, the very well presented Club newsletter and alot of willing and knowledgable members, that they might not otherwise have had access to.

Calm down dear!!!!!! ;)

Not a menber of ABS, but surely a return  (Automated) email would put all/any problems in focus,

From the ABS website ... Dave Kember should have been in contact with Dodger by now .. he was e-mailing to sort it out.

Chris Wood may be a tad busy with end of year tax returns ... thats his full time occupation

Alf Langley (past memebership secretary) has been incorrectly still getting mail which has been frowarded but takes time ...

So .. all in all there are several "senior" members trying to sort this out for you .. and being very open and honest about the problems

http://www.autobahnstormers.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19521

With any luck and a little time it should be sorted.  ABS are very good normally .. please give them a litle more time  :y :y :y

Yup, I can confirm this. There have been some 'senior' members that have got involved with this application & the Membership Secretary does have a day job, just like the rest of us & unfortunately, his means that this time of year just happens to be the busiest for him.

It doesn't help with the old Membership Secretary sending him the applications that go to the old address & Royal Mail delivering the post in batches due the effects of the mail strikes.

It also doesn't help that I plagued him with a few requests as I got my wallet knicked between Christmas and New Year.

The advice I have is to be patient as the result of being an ABS member is more than worth the membership fee, from the technical knowledge, trade club card & the events that the ABS arrange.
