Unintended transformation of my Elite. Interestingly for a large automatic car, it is now only happy to be driven like some lairy sports car. The transmission, especially in sport mode and especially with the update, only works well when being driven hard. At all other times it is mind-bendingly frustrating, although less so in sport mode. With the Bilsteins the suspension is the same way. It is like a race suspension, it only works when being driven hard. At all other times it feels like the shocks are actually solid blocks of poly.
OTOH, with the new wishbones and alignment the car can be driven hard because it actually goes where you point it. Also, the shocks do keep the wheels controlled so you can hit bumps when cornering and the chassis is not upset. In short, it is very very happy if you drive it hard. Leave it in sport and don't drop below 70 even on back roads and it goes quite well. The car even feels smaller and lighter than it really is. Unfortunately you have to go 70 because in sport mode it won't do the 4th gear lockup until 62 no matter what.
I like project cars, and I like large sedans, but I was not looking for a large sedan project car. The repairs are one thing, but now that it is not a comfortable daily use/travelling car it really is a project car. That is not what I want, despite it being a surprisingly effective B-road tool. On top of that it pushes you to speed and to pass other vehicles.
