I am down there on a course from Wednesday-Friday....any decent pubs for food in that area or places to see of an evening?

Not that I know of.

Had a few nights out in Aldershot which have been good afternoons/evening. Woking isn't a nice place last time I went in there (2 or 3 years ago).

Kevin Wood may know better, as he isn't far away.

Indeed. Not far from me if you want to meet up for a beer?

Just trying to think what's in the area, apart from a large tunnelling project... :-/

Dont know Haslemere itself but it depends how deep your pockets are.

The Aviator hotel restaurant in Farnborough is fantastic but pricey, however the upstairs bar is cool for watching the airport from but figure in about £4 a drink.  Sip slowly......

Cheap and cheerful the Manhattans Italian in North Camp is good, esp the pizzas.

Monkey island is nearby and pretty good but again pricey afair but it has been 4 years + since I was there last.

Gulshans in Farnham (indian) is very good and does a starter, main, desert, rice and veg meal for about £10 (+£2 for prawns) on tuesday and wednesdays but it's best to reserve.

 :o

I'd say Farnham and Godalming are probably the best local bets for food, drink, etc. although there are bound to be plenty of decent pubs around. Just nothing that springs to mind.

Great pub in Bentley (The Star Inn, IIRC). Decent real ale  and they've franchised the food side to an Indian restaurant. :y

Yes, there was a Westfield club meet there a couple of years back and food and beer were pretty good IIRC.

The Queens is a poo hole and the equally bad Q club should be avoided(if it is still there) along with the dodgy burger/kebab van in the car park/trees near the traffic lights.

Yes, I'd probably avoid the Bordon direction. If you want a town with some life as opposed to a single nice pub, Farnham, Guildford and perhaps Godalming would be the favourites. Guildford probably being the only real option if you're after a proper curry, pub, club, kebab bender.
