Computer help needed.

My mrs has just got a message on the laptop from security center saying desktop blocker you have 41 viruses. Whent to add & remove programes & cant remove it get message remove programe has been blocked. I have got windows live one care installed & am running vista. Any help on removing this greatly appreciated.

which security center?  Was it from anAV you have installed or just a funny looking message box?

If the latter it looks like you have fallen foul of a hack, most likely a trojan horse.  It will need IDing and a good cleaning tool :y

install spybot you have some malware on there and also make sure your antivirus is upto date if you don't have one i can recommend Avast :y

Sounds like Malware.  Suspect you'll need to pop into safe mode, and run some good antispyware software, and take it from there

Never seen the mesage before it just asks to buy the activation key. As if im going out bank details to an unknown source. Got windows live one care installed. Done a full scan & it recons pc clear of viruses.

Hi eddie that looks like what shes got just under a different name. Cant even run the anti virus now. Everything seems locked out.

All sorted now thanks. It was a Trojan. Can't believe the antivirus never picked it up earlier.
