Vodafone phones
« on: 29 January 2010, 13:45:41 »

Got a new phone with a new contract from a Vodafone store in October 09. Perfectly pleased with it (voda is the only network with a signal in our house) until yesterday I discovered some entries in the calendar that were not mine!

Went back to the store yesterday and told the store manager I wasn't very happy that I had got a second hand phone when i paid for a new one. He said it wasn't second hand and it would just be that someone had had it and then changed their minds in the 28 day cooling off period and brought it back. I asked how he thought that it was still a brand new phone and he replied it just is and that I would just have to accept it as there was nothing he was going to do about it >:( >:(

Now normally I am not one to have a major stand up row in the middle of a shop but this guy had me riled >:( I said to him that if he bought a new car from a dealership and then found out that someone had taken it before him and then changed their minds and brough it back would he still accept that the car was brand new?? He answered no but that was different. >:( >:(

He kept this up for around 15 minutes until I asked for the name and telephone number of his regional manager. His attitude changed then and lo and behold there was something he could do about it.

In the end I came away with a brand new phone (no entries in this one as I checked while still in the store) and an upgrade to my contract (at no extra cost) so I now get 300 mins and unlimited texts for £15 per month :y :y :y

Very happy now :y :y :y

Surely these phones are in brand new sealed boxes, would'nt you have known this immediately?

Glad you got the right result in the end.

Cheeky idiots are all the same these days, they all try it on.

When he sold it to me he "opened" the box to show me the phone.

I am now not so sure that it was ever sealed as yesterday when he brought the new one out he had a stanley knife and he showed me the seal before breaking it which he didn't do first time round ::) ::)

Had they have reset and cleared all entries you may well have never found out.

I hate it when they try and pull a fast one.
