New Video Card Required.
« on: 29 January 2010, 19:50:08 »

Allways been an NVidia fan and ended up with an 8800GTX.

But have heard recently that the radeon performance has greatly improved.

I have a new motherboard which will run either card, but seems from what I have read to be optimised for crossfire, whether this means multiple cards I am not quite sure.

Anyways just been looking at the Asus ATI Radeon HD 5770 and Asus HD 5750 @ just over £100 each

At the moment I dont need really high spec for the card but need it for mybedroom to play games on and output to flatscreen TV 1920x1080p so thought would be better by HDMI.

Any thoughts on NVidia Versys Radeon these days.

TIA. :y

lost track of graphics cards since i got my xbox, got tired of constant updates, last one i bought was a GeForce MX 440  :o

ATi are the daddies these days, you won't need anything special for a TV if your not playing games.

Worth looking at the spec of your TV, even though its 1920x1080, a lot of TV's don't support that via VGA

Worth looking at the spec of your TV, even though its 1920x1080, a lot of TV's don't support that via VGA  Thats why I would rather connect via HDMI as mentioned

My TV supports 120x1080 via the VGA (see above)

Why would he use the VGA input when he can connect the PC using HDMI?

Most TV's only have a few HDMI connections, which are soon used up. DVD Player / Xbox / Sky+

VGA is only used for PC, so might as well use it!
