any war enthusiasts among you?
« on: 30 March 2007, 21:11:08 »

no, not at starting them but interested in re-enactment shows etc. beltring in kent is a huge show every year with tonnes of military displays and enthusiasts who get dressed up in as much original garb as possible.  its certainly worth a visit for the interested parties and ya can camp over night, which may be another two fold meet??
its in july and the camping places are limited. my m8 goes there as an east german patrol guard (he didnt want to go the whole hog though, and get an alsation !!)

Yes, an absolute must for WW1&2 enthusiasts. I went in 2005 for the 1st time and could'nt believe how much stuff was there. The tanks were my favorite, just about everything there (exept authentic Tiger of course). The attention to detail is amazing with the uniforms (a bit scarey actually). I really wanted to buy one of the many deactivated MG42 machine guns for sale, complete with tripod to mount on the omega roof but her indoors.......ect..ect.

last year they had a juicy lucys vietnamese bar set up with a gi guard outpost, looked amazing with the music blarring out! my mate was tempted to hang around the carpark and not let any one back- i think he was taking his re-enactment a bit too far!! ;D
