For Christmas 2008 I bought my long-suffering wife (amongst other stuff!):
Ironing board
Roadcraft Police Drivers Manual

2009:
101 Housework songs

How will I ever top those romantic gifts  :-?

The current Mrs LD and I have never done anything particularly special for Valentines day (or birthdays come to think of it ::)) and think it's just a load of commercial BS to try and get people to spend money >:( >:(

Why do I need a special day to tell her I love her... I tell her every day anyway ::) :y :y :y

I`m a spinster
Deb says boohoo!  ;D

Reminds me of when we got married. We applied for a special license and back came this lovely hand-written parchment document from the Faculty office of the Archbishop of Canterbury, complete with a wax seal and everything.

I suggested we should frame it and put it on the wall, and Mrs. KW agreed - until she noticed that it referred to her as "a Spinster of 35 years".  ;D

`Reminds me of when I first came to live in Wales (I`d previously spent 20+ years in the U.S): my new Welsh neighbour (lady) asked me if I was a "spinster" and then asked; "are you barren then?"....`had to swallow pretty-hard before answering that one! ;D.....She then asked me if I was "Godless".....`kind of sets the tone for life in this Deliverance-like environment. ::)

Don't you just love the direct, unambiguous and open approach so prevalent in certain parts of the country? - refreshing or what? ;D ;D :y
