one thing i like about this forum. is that since iv been a member

no one member has done the ushall forum spelling police thing.

about my terrible spelling and grammar

due to being dyslexic it can get rather tedious on some places

looking at them classified ads posted it can tell witch ones are from dyslexics

lol

don't always assume that those who write like that are dim, there not. they may well have an iq 3 times as high as you.

fire fox is handy for inbuilt spellchecker.
but it dont get everything

but the gramer is a funny thing.

i will often write it read it 10 times think its ok.
read the post 3 hours later again only to relise how shit it is then

when i write i often had to change what i really want to say for more simplistic words as i cant spell what i want to write.

so just remember take a little bit more time with because the chance is there probably more pissed and frustrated with than you are  trying to read it

I don't think anyone cares too much about spelling mistakes - good job too, as my spelling is abysmal ;D

There are 3 things that really detract from the readability of posts:
  • lack of punctuation, making a whole paragraph just a set of random words with no meaning
  • text speak, as you have to stop the flow to decode the teenager's strange code
  • permenent caps lock - our brains excel in reading lower case as thats what all of us are taught to do all our lives. Caps also has the meaning of SHOUTING on Internet sites

The first 2, as well as being impossible for anyone (or over 16yr olds for 2nd) to read, also makes it impossible for machines to read.  Which really buggers up search engines and similar. Some of us have spent an awful lot of time and effort ensuring this site appears in search engines and portals to potential Omega owners. It would be a shame to waste all that just because some people are too lazy to type out words.

In addition, I know I'm not alone in that if I find a post in one of the help sections difficult to read, I'll skip it.

Thats why the Forum Guidelines are written as they are ;)

My spelling is impeccable and my grammar first rate.  But nothing, it seems, will ever stop me from being boring. :(

Im with you on txt speek and caps as i was around before www pages.

txt speek drives me nuts. in fact i refuse to answer txt even in the mobile if someones to lazy / tight to ring i just ignore it

but like I said if your like  me punctuation and grammar are a nightmare to get right.

its a myth that dislexsics just see letters  backwards etc
and like i said you can write something read 10 times and it makes sentence

come back a hour later and it now dont look right. its weird like that.

in my  case i could read  fine infact  Icould read a novel  much earlyer than other children

numbers and maths  were fine

spelling gets better over time but the biggest problem was grammar and punctuation.

but one of the most annoying things with dislexcer are
the shorterm memory thing.

like loseing tools. one min you got tool in your hand useing it, next min you have put down somewhere odd and have no memory of doing it and now spend three quarters of an hour looking for it.

or spend 3 hours looking for tv remote and later find it in the fridge because you went to get a snack and you put there with out you brain registering you doing it.
