I certainly don't think Di has bought a lemon... When I buy a car (any car) I expect to service it and stick a Cam Belt Kit/Water pump and Axillary belt on, without even viewing the car, no matter what the blurb says. If there is solid proof that I don't need to do any of those it's a bonus

Tyres are a consumable and also a very personal part... I'm happy enough with the High-end Budget Tyres I use but someone like MDTM/TB may find the limits more restricting than I do (being a respectable member of the community who never speeds

) and want to change them... I have 4 reasonably new tyres fitted at present and would expect that to be reflected in the
asking price.
Wheel alignment is something which, due to the dreadful condition of our roads (particularly at this time), needs doing Annually really... I know mine would benefit from the "Bones' Magic", although not desperately

Thermostats, HBVs, wishbones, idlers and any other number of parts fail... ...$h1t happens! Live with it! Mine was an Ebay swap... It looked (on the surface) like I'd had the better deal by a long way until I started digging into it and realise I was staring down the barrel of a £400+
parts bill and a fair bit of work

As it happens, I'm perfectly happy and only want to change it because I want a newer one (and an Estate)
In short... It wasn't purely down to the seller. Di has rushed into a purchase because of the other things happening in her life, which none of us know about in detail, and should have known better after her time on here. She's not used to buying cars and probably (in hindsight) wishes she'd taken someone from here along to have a look. But, that is no reason to "get rid" of what looks to be a car in very good condition... Judging from what I've read and interpreted from here, I would probably have ended up offering just under £2k for the car (and had seriously considered going and having a look) and spent out on the repairs.
At the end of the day... It looks like a really nice car and, with a little bit of money (even less at James' Labour rate

) it will be an example to be proud of
