Yet another job interview
« on: 17 February 2010, 09:09:44 »

The last job I went for seemed to have been put on hold  :-X   however I'm off for another interview this morning to the Liverpool area. This was fun, the initial spec was diagnosing and repairing PCB's, however the actual job spec is totally different.

Its funny how sometimes you see a job advertised by several agencies; the descriptions are totally different, but its the same job.

Here's hoping,

Printed Circuit Boards, they hold the electronic components that make your TV work, you car go, your phone never stop ringing, etc

Wonder why no-one has come up with a waterproof version.

I use to be a electronic assembler for making  circuit boards and use put all the resisters and other parts in them and solder them and used to use the flux too , I worked for lab gear in Cambridge before they shut it down and moved it to Ely Cambridge

Thanks guys for the good wishes.

just got back, no problems, a few tricky ones like a circuit diagram with some strange shapes and asked what they do. How am I suposed to know, there are millions of chips out there, I don't know them all  :P  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Went fine, now the technical bit to desolder and refit a 4000 series cmos chip in a 14 DIL package !. I haven't seen them for decades . Er, what the hell do you do with them  ;D ;D ;D

It all came back, I got it off and back in OK, so just got to wait and see.

Oh yes they have! Its actually fairly easy - you just cover the whole thing in resin. Usually black if the assembly is regarded as being disposable/replaceable, or clear if it needs visual inspection.

FYI - Omega DIS packs are filled with the black resin  :y
