There is a company about 2 miles from me that make concrete products including the concrete lintel im after for the majority of the builders merchants. I phoned them this morning for a 2.7m lintel which they do but wont sell me one as im not a builders merchant and not buying in bulk. So ok I said who do you supply I will give them a call, they give me a list and im on the phone, 40 minutes later none of these companies have the one I want and im having to grovel to a company 15 miles away to deliver one to me. I think they are going to take my pants down with the delivery price

I was speaking to the owner of a local brewery  . In order to have his "local" brew served in the pub in the same village it has to be shipped from Hampshire to their suppliers' distribution centre in the midlands and then shipped back 500 yds away from where it was produced.

And they moan at motorists for increasing CO2 emissions!

You need to speak to a manager there, or ask them for a company who will deliver (great threat BTW)

Ive got the Estate now and it will just fit in but who wants a concrete lintel on their leather

For one concrete lintel youll get told to go somewhere else then.

Specialist item that no one has in stock? Most likely to say go elsewhere, then when you can't get it and come back to them the delivery period or cost as changed somewhat.

Does it have to be concrete?? Could you not use a steel lintel, or a timber engineered beam??

Believe it or not but there is currently a cement shortage so concrete products are in short supply
