Di's Elite - Gawd help us
« on: 18 February 2010, 12:14:27 »

Di is currently in France.. so it's made at least 50% of the trip.

Although - a check light has come on - it's the picture of the car with the spanner through it - is this the EML or the emissions light? I was thinking it might be the standard precat issue on 3.2?

Things are not looking great for the major service this weekend as far as the weather is concerned - heavy snow  :'(

Whats a bit of snow ;D

I did a couple over the Christmas period, they sat in my lounge watching Sky tv while I was freezing my danglie bits off outside. There's got to be an easier way to pay the bills  ;D

Car with spanner is the EML, IIRC.  Emissions light is a picture of an engine. Gawd knows any 3.2 owner is familiar enough with that one!

Might be worth suggesting a pedal check, although if it's still working...

Spanner = EML

The precat (emissions) is just a picture of an engine - no spanner.

I had considered going to look at it when it was for sale by saranbailey, but glad I didn't. Hopefully it'll all be ok for Di though. But hopefully it is the common 3.2 fault, and not anything else, as I can't imagine it'd do the cats much good driving back from France with a real emissions fault.

We think it's the EML, rather then emissions light...

Excuse my ignorance but when you talk about the common 3.2 fault do you mean the pre-cats and the remedy being re-siting the sensors.

That's the chap.  and it causes the emissions light to come on (as opposed to the EML.. ::) ;D)

I am not sure if 2.6 suffers from that problem.

.. or were you referring to the OOF soap opera car? ::)
