I`ve been to the scrapyard again! 8-)
Fed up with regularly setting fire to my steel-topped wooden workbench when welding; I have decided to construct myself a 'proper' welding table.
Found a nice flat pc. of boiler-plate: 2` x 4` x 3/8" and some lengths of 5" x 2" rectangular tubing......all fitted easily in the Miggy (even with the dogs in there too!).....I did struggle a bit getting the 90 Kg. pc. of plate out of the car and into the workshop, though.
Where are all the blokes when you need one!

Pic below is today`s progress: squaring up the plate and cutting/welding the frame sections together (shown inverted).....BTW: the 'overhang' is to allow easy-clamping of work to the top of the table`s edge.
Tomorow, I`ll cut and weld on the caps for the open ends of the tubes and then tack the plate to the frame....knock up some adjustable-legs and if I have the strength, I`ll turn it `right side up and try it out!

Spent just £5. on all the metal.
