Went to Llandudno: on a shopping expedition today (before this blizzard arrived).....saw a promotion-sign in the supermarket: "photographs for illustration only"

......errr, hello!?!?!? :D

It does sound a bit daft, but you'll find disclaimers along the lines of "Due to constant product development and improvement, images are for representation only" in most catalogue "small print" etc.
 
It's there to cover any issues when customers complain something they've bought isn't exactly as in the photograph.

Mucky D's is a prime example. To say that what they actually serve is slightly different to the burgers in the photos on display is an understatement.

Tinned soup with a photo of a bowl of soup, and just below, the words " Serving suggestion"  :-?

Ebayers are using this to send any old crap. The photo is what the item might have once looked like, but what you receive is nothing like it.

most products show the serving suggestions on the label,

I like the Machine Mart illustrations that have the words "Tools Not Included" ;D
