Frankly I am shocked, does that mean I can take my kids to say Spain or Portugal and live off there government.  ;D

I'm so impressed that both the EU and its Court of Justice are looking after the welfare of the vulnerable here in this hostile country.

How far-sighted it has been for our present Government to forge even closer links with this august body through the Lisbon treaty. 8-) 8-)

We should indeed consider ourselves fortunate - I'll certainly be voting for New Labour (really the equivalent of the local government body to those great institutions of the EU of course) next time around. :y

I entreaty all members of this forum to do likewise :y :y

Rules get worse.

On the news last week, a woman with 6 kids moved into private rented accomadtion and put the rent bill to housing benefit, as she had a large family and was not working they had to pay out on a loop hole in the rules.

They were forced to pay her [size=14]£1700 [/size]a weeek rent bill.

Think it was on The Wright Stuff last week.

well why didn't you say - i was ready to believe it was completely made up, but as it was on "The Wright Stuff" it's just got to be the truth  ;D

£1700 a week my ar$e - people believe any old toss so long as its in the papers or on telly  :o
