Amazing Insurance Renewal
« on: 05 March 2010, 12:29:38 »

Omega insurance is up for renewal at the end of the month. I've done the usual comparisons and searching (incredibly organised for me as I usually leave it till the last couple of days ::)) and can't believe that the renewal premium is actually the cheapest quote I can get anywhere :o :o It's even £10 cheaper than as a new customer with them :o :o

So a big :y :y :y to Swiftcover for finally realising that they can't rip people off for being too lazy to check :-X :-X

Condition of LPG cover is it must be fitted by a professional... I told them it was fitted by a Mechanic (which I used to be) :-X ::) And they were fine.

Yours has a safety certificate so you'll be fine :y :y

Incidentally, they were also cheapest last year and only charged me an additional £8 for full business cover :y :y

I'd expect it to go down... You've gone from no NCD to 1 year (normally approx 30%) ;) ;)

Having been driving for 14 years my NCD doesn't get any better now :'( :'(

true once it gets down to a certain amount its going to stay there. Just about to pay £450 for this year, thats unlimited mileage, unlimited green card use, insured keys, excess protection (get excess back, if i say drop it myself) and as mentioned, pillion and commuting  :)

Glad mine is nowhere near that - that would blow out the cost benefits for me :o

Its not much more than the Yam i had before, that was £550 when i first took the policy out  :o

Reckon if i use it in the summer and commute from Surrey, i'll save about £10/15 per day....

But at the end of the day its just a toy  8-)

I can't get my head round "excess protection".  What's the difference between that and no excess?

I have an excess, think its £300. The protection is protection for it, if:

someone uninsured hits me
someone crashes into me and drives off
if i drop it all by myself in the garage / scrape it on the wall or what ever

Works out at £1.50 a month, if i have to claim, i get the excess back

All will still bugger your insurance next year, to the point you won'y give a monkey's nipple about £300 ;)

Yep... But paying the £300 will too. Only way around it would be ... .. .... ... ... ....... .., which is illegal ::)
