The good old days eh!

I can remer all 14 things,we were lucky and did'nt have a party line in our 2nd house, didn't have a phone at all in the 1st house.

Remeber the kids getting bathed in the sink.

Having to pull the choke out to start the car, mud flaps and hub caps.

Those hook on red/white parking lights that you wound up on the windows.

Spud Guns, loved the pea shooters, instead of 1 pea at a time, I used to fill my mouth with pea's Used to have some right ols pea shooter fights.

The old board games, mouse trap, ker plunk, battling tops, all the noisy ones used to send my Dad crazy.

Home grown veg and fruit.

and playing out on the streets at night..

'Thanks for the Memories'  :'(.
Whyever did we fool ourselves into believing our kids should have all the things we never had? We had it ALL and never realised! How I wish those days were back again :(

Yep, all 14 of them, me Mum and Dad split up when I was 5 so used to spend a lot of time round my Nans, also remember the Toilet Shed was in the back garden, the Coal Men had to tramp through the house to get to rear bunker, and bath time was a metal tub in the freezing conservetry.

Use to see my Dad only on summer holidays, He was a Diplomat so He got posted arround the world every 3 years, my first trip to see Him was in Pakistan. I went London to Frankfurt (BEA) 1 night stop over in Frankfurt then next day to Athens (Lufthansa), refuel then off to Karachi, 1 night stop over their then off to Rawapindi (PIA), all at the age of 7 and on my own.

Cant imaging young Kids would be allowed to do that these days.  :y

Well...apparently..the baby boomers are the ones who've had it good. And now we've left nothing for the younger generation. Paxo said so last night.

I can remember 8 of the points, must be getting old! :o

My mom reckons that her doctor actually advised her to have 1 bottle of Guinness per night when pregnant rather than take iron tablets; he said it would, "do her more good." :)

( I was born in 1969)

Oh Dear remember all of this.

Child of the fifties and family is so important to us.

All the men were coal miners and we moved between Coldred in Kent and Maesteg in South Wales. 17 in the family group living in one 3 bedroom house until the seventies when some of us joined the forces and others married and moved around the valleys.

Tell my grandkids about this and they think I am mental.

Must visit Coldred again soon to see how it has changed. Go to Maesteg very regular as that is where most of the family still lives.
