Nasty crash
« on: 05 March 2010, 18:38:48 »

Thankfully not me but only half a dozen cars ahead near Fareham.  Driving through a residential area a girl decides to park on the opposite pavement.  Problem is there was traffic coming the other way, a young lad in a 106.  Has car was so badly hit the roof crumpled, the pillock wasn't wearing his seatbelt so he smacked the steering wheel with his bottom lip.  Before coming to a stop his lump of metal hit a third vehicle completely blocking the road.

I did the old medic thing but everyone was fine so found an alternative route from a local grabbed a bunch of people behind me and got around it.  I was nearly home before I saw any police cars with their Blues and 2s on.......

Considering both were doing 30, impact speed of 60, no wonder the small car was pretty much destroyed.  Young lad was lucky

Seems to be getting more prevalent everywhere. The M62 was always bad, but it's closed nearly every morning now because of crashes (Usually lorries).

Considering the near misses , or lunatic/showoff dickheads proving how good they are-nt behind the wheel, we all see every day, it's a wonder traffic moves at all really  :o ;) :y

Having done recovery work for the Police I am not surprised by the damage caused any more... Used to be though

Given my occupation i see pile ups on an almost day to day basis & yes smaller cars by their nature don't fare well on impact. Sadly sh*t sticks as in the "dog in Liverpool" post. Yes some scousers are naughty at times & so is everyone else from any town/city. Yes some lorry drivers are idiots at times & cause accidents but we get a bad press. Take the M62 then. Travelling westbound on any weekday morning the M1 split & M606 Bradford split are always busy to the point of the inside lane becoming a queuing lane & at a standstill for maybe half a mile. Many RTA'S involving HGV's are caused by ignorant car & van drivers suddenly realising they don't want to exit said junction & pulling out into the middle lane suddenly, causing panic braking. This can cause a collision futher back that you'll probably be unaware of....2 or 3 cars may have to brake hard resulting in the truck hitting one of them..all because you did'nt know where you wanted to be. It works the other way as well. Inside lane is blocked up with folk waiting to exit but there'e always a few pillocks who feel they shouldn't wait like everyone else, their journey is more important so they fly past the queue, try to dive in just before the exit therefore blocking the centre lane as well again causing panic braking because you can't quite get in because you would'nt wait like everyone else you w*nker.
Both situations result in a traffic report on the radio saying said incident involved an HGV. Cheers then.

For any of you near to me who are not convinced i challenge/invite you to turn up in Immingham first thing in the morning & ride shotgun for the day...see things from a real perspective. You'll have a fun day out & see things from the other side. I can't say fairer than that. If not then stop bkeating because sat in your car you don't know. You might think you do but you don't.
C'mon Steve, it'd be nice to meet you. Put your money where your mouth is pal.!!!! 8-)

The queue is silly as people coming off the A180 Eastbound join the road that has the traffic coming westbound into Immingham and nobody has any patience at all trying to move one inch closer to the roundabout so they block the junction and don't think of anyone else but themselves.

surely thats only because everyone else only thinks about themselves? sorry but if i was to stop and a junction in the aim of not blocking it, i would get nowhere... as im pretty sure alot of people wouldn't. its a dog eat dog world and every man for himself these days... shame really

Pulling out infront of another driver is very stupid & sadly it happens far too much, but if the drivers behind weren't travelling so close to each other, there wouldn't be the pile up behind.
I've driven HGV's & done many miles of commercial trailer towing, i treat ALL drivers the same, they're all STUPID & do unexplainable things sometimes.
