Productive day
« on: 06 March 2010, 18:46:46 »

Been working on the new boat project:

- cut an inspection hatch into the stern deck, found the wood in there wet but not rotten (phew)  it's drying out now with the help of a hot air blower.
- Cleaned up the area where the old daggerboard was affixed to the cockpit floor with my trusty dremmmel.
- continued putting several layers of epoxy on the wood I rescued.
- removed old rubber and metal on the hull
- fitted new drain holes and piping
- sanded the topsides and repaired all the patches of broken gelcoat.

tomorrow:

- cut transom and fair it into shape, then epoxy it to death
- fair repairs on topsides
- paint topside
- build new daggerboard box
- fibreglass and epoxy paste new daggerboard into place
- fit transom

Then all I have to do is fair and paint the hull in a 2-pack epoxy paint :y

The wife gets back from Hawaii on wednesday, what do you reckon she will say?  ::) ::) ::)

Due to the temperature outside I have been doing most of the epoxy work on the kitchen floor using lots of grease proof paper.... stinks in there.  Take-out again tonight!  ;D ;D
