I can recall watching the test-card, awaiting the day`s telly to begin.......day-time tv. in those days (early 60`s) was sometimes one of those obscure trade-test colour films; oh, the joy!

For some reason, the "S.I.D.E" film by the UKAE stuck in my mind; even today, 45 years later, I still know that the mnemonic is: Switch-off, Isolate, Dump, Earth.....the absorbtive power of a child`s mind, eh!

very good ;Dmust be getting old-i remember the b/w test card d, the famous testcard f and the colour testcard g all quite clearly. mostly i remember the 70s clock though. Obviously a sign of too many late nights in my youth. Remember when the only night time tv was the open university?

I was going to say that I did not understand it..
