Scam to end all scams
« on: 10 March 2010, 09:41:48 »

So from 1st April, if you have a solar panel, the government will pay you a feed-in tariff of 41.3p per KWh, even if you use the electricity yourself. Mains power costs around 15p/KWh.

Anyone spot a potential, if rather fraudulent, opportunity there?  ::) ::) ::)

Oh, and:
"The income from the electricity sales is not taxed so, for a higher bracket taxpayer – who would have to pay for the electricity out of earned income, the payback time can be reduced to as little as 15 years. By 2020, however, the government estimates that the subsidy – paid by electricity users – will be costing £8.6 billion annually. Since only the better off will be able to afford the installation costs, this amounts to a massive transfer of wealth from the poor to those fortunate enough to be able to buy the equipment.."

A similar scheme in Germany has cost £10bn in subsidies to produce 1% of the electricity needs. Merckel has just reduced the subsidy by 15% as it's costing so much.

It is estimated that to produce 2% of our needs in this way by 2020, will cost £80bn. Dave, should he be elected, wants to increase this figure to 15% by 2020....costing £600 billion, yes £600 billion.

I can't think of a better way to make the poor, poorer and the rich, richer.

Alice in Wonderland economics. Oh, and of course, it is NuLabour which has introduced this, so they're all completely bonkers.  >:( >:( >:(
