The V5 will have stretched saloon. The last UK car to have the honour of 'limousine' was the Daimler DS420 .......

which was from a long time before the Yanks bastardised the word to mean some horrible white monstrosity that you'd use for a porn night  ::)  ::)  ::) ;)

They've got a seperate car for that?  :o :o ;D

I do love the ds420's, but you either buy a cheap one which will undoubtedly need plenty of welding, .....

They're often painted an off/Olde English white & have sides with more waves down their sides than Morecambe beach.  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

I used to love being driven back to school in one ..... Christ! That was 35 yrs ago!  :o

Driven back to boarding school in a DS420, you're such a posh git ;) ;D ;D ;D

Beetle!  :o How do they manage that?
Mmmm? A 'woody Beetle estate'! What are you like at welding?  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

which reminds me ...... this click here soft top has now gone. The poor thing was relatively intact till the local yoofs set it on fire. It's been under this tarpaurlin on & off for at least a year. With a bit of luck it's been sold to be restored.  :)

Odd you saying that Andy - my daughter's prom night in July -  she desn't want a 'chavvy limo', she wants
My mate's Ferrari 318 GTS Quattrovalve. (SP!).

From Wikipedia.......and it's not set in stone........
"A limousine (or limo) is a luxury vehicle sedan or saloon car, especially one with a lengthened wheelbase or driven by a chauffeur. The chassis of a limousine may have been extended by the manufacturer or by an independent coach builder. These are referred to as "stretch" limousines and are traditionally black or white in color. Limousines are often driven by chauffeurs and until the mid-1990s were most often associated with the very rich[citation needed]. They are also used for special occasions such as weddings, parties and sight-seeing tours."

You need the right welding wire - ash, beech, oak etc or it'll never work!

Maybe Pete, but the V5 fro a DS420 used to have limousine whereas the stretched Omegas/Senators /etc etc have 'stretched saloon'. The floor pan of a DS420 is or based on that of a MkX/420G Jaguar saloon.

I'm pretty sure that the dictionary definition of a 'coupe' is a car just ahving 2 doors. But Rover had a 4 door Coupe & now Jag have one too.  ;)

Oct 57 was the changeover ;)

Rears are truck side markers mounted on the bumper irons, fronts I replaced the side light lenses and backs with glass pre 68 mini minor orange lenses. Moved the sidelights into headlights.
