Latest metalwok project: car stools
« on: 19 March 2010, 12:35:47 »

I`m at it again! ::)

I`m making a set of car-wheel 'stools' (of another person`s design; pic. as below)
I have the height dimension in mind (e.g high enough to enable transmission changes and exhaust work) but I wonder if someone may tell me the widest section-width of tyres commonly fitted to the Omega; so I can make them wide enough to fit other`s cars at meets or on loan etc. ;)

As O says... 245 is (I think) the largest standard size. Oh... And ignore the car geek, although I did notice the Porker badge on the wheels ::)

As a small suggestion, It may be worth modifying the feet of these stools to make them better suited to tarmac/softer surfaces :-/

Would have thought so... If anyone tries to use them on a surface soft enough for them to sink into they would be a prime candidate for Darwin anyway ::) ::) ;D ;D
