All the best Bob, and I'm sorry you are going through it at the moment. :'( :'(

Yes getting older is not glorious, but you have the wisdom to know too much about what is going on! ::) ::) ;)

Thanks Lizzie :y

Yes, if I had the knowledge and wisdom I have now in a 20 year old body I'd be a very happy man!! ::) ;D

Did the doc take your blood pressure before or after you had the "finger" treatment ? I dont think you would get a true reading if it was just after. ::) :D ;D

I had it about 10 years ago from a male doctor, I remember thinking "if I enjoy this Im going to top myself". :o :D ;D ;D.........seem to remember it was a bit enlarged - havent been back since. ::)

I always ask for a male doctor when I go for a delicate examination, but it seems a female is quite acceptable. I shall ask for big bertha next time. ;D

I've recently had a thorough "seeing to" for my hernia op which is healing well, ecg, blood test, the works & i'm healthier than i deserve to be. Not a big fruit fan as i don't have a sweet tooth but love my veggies, brown bread, fish, skimmed milk, sleep with windows open & truck window open all day (fresh air goes a long way) & have taken up cycling again, really enjoying it. I still smoke & drink & always will, but i've given up alot of drug habits from the past. I have reached the stage where i have to visit the bathroom at night but that's just an age thing....i am nearly 24!!! I also drink plenty of water.
By all means Bob do what you have to do but a little of what you fancy does you good. The biggest killer is stress. I'm totally devoid of it because i allow myself the odd indulgence. :y

As it happens, my doctor is a rather attractive, well endowed female in her mid 30's and has a tendancy to wear quite revealing tops (I'm really not joking) - no wonder my bloody blood pressure's high. ::) ;D

really hard to give up with a pint of beer, i found dry roasted peenuts take the urge away...mmmm. ;)  (not sure if they add to cholestrol)

all the best Bob, would try to drop the collesterol without statins if possible personally, dont like the sound of those from other family members.

I don't think the peanuts are too bad for you but the salt content is high which is not so good.
I am on Statins but I don't know how long for. :-/ She might take me off them if my cholesterol and blood pressure drop significantly. Going to start exercising a bit more - swimming, a few long walks and bit of jogging as that should help.
