camping in spain
« on: 25 March 2010, 21:24:50 »

I have been planning to drive down to Benidorm for a holiday. Now thinking of extending the trip and going for a little longer as i have been made redundant. Plan is now to go on from Benidorm down to the costa del sol. Does anyone know of any good cheap clean camp sites to stay at along the way? Thanks.

Hi

Sorry only just seen this. I haven't camped in Southern Spain before but have used Southern Spanish camp sites with a touring caravan.

We found the ones inland a bit nicer. The ones on the coast tended to be noisy, cramped and well used. Not surprising really. That is the price to pay for being next to the coast. Depends what you want.

I've spent a bit of time down just south of Alicante. (between Santa Pola and Torrevieja). Not too touristy IMHO. Don't recall seeing any camp sites there but it wouldn't be a bad area to look IMHO, especially if you venture a few miles inland. It is a bit barren and dusty for camping, or at least, it has been when I've been there (late September).
