local FedEx stealers
« on: 01 April 2010, 10:51:50 »

Bought the watch on ebay in Singapore for 74 USD.
Shiping using FedEx payed by seller.
Item arrived at local FedEx headoffice in capital.
They contacted me and needed a power of attorney to go through customs.
Sent them the receit and signed power of attorney (proxy), the customs tax and charges should have been no more than 25 USD
And they sent me the invoice as following
Customs and charges: around 40 USD.
Bank Guarantee around 1 USD.
Handling around 24 USD?????
FedEx customs warehouse usage  around 35USD ????
Every item bought abroad has to go through customs and FedEx charges 35 USD for simply going to their warehouse.
I must stress out FedEx shiping payed by seller, so these are all hidden charges.
Should I pay for this?
Anyone got any good advice.
I was thinking of contacting directly HeadOffice of FedEx for Europe cause this really stinks.
60USD of additional charges on top of payed sipping.
Fu... stealers  >:(

I just bought a high zoom CCTV camera from hong kong, bought a week last monday, free shipping, arrived yesterday, no charges.

Possible problem might be using Fedex, the customs might just happen to charge for everything that goes through thier system.

Only time I paid charge was for a Dell 19" flat screen that still cost me £450 from the states but nearly £500 over here.  I was warned by the gut (Based in Fife) that occasionally there would be cutom charges, it was at the time organised crime where sending Anthrax or similar is postal packets so everthing thing was getting checked and I got clobbered for £16 before they would relaese it.

If you bought it of ebay and paid via paypal they try the option for a opps refund under the understanding "Not as advetised"
