Cheaper V6 Locking Kit..

Any good, looks the same to me and £100 less than the sealey rip off..

Yeah, I already saw that, searched ebay first - now I've got the Sykes catalogue downloaded too!

It ain't gonna still be on there by they time I've got some ready's too hand - that kit I found looks pretty identical though doesn't it?

Yeah, the one you found looks pretty good!

I find that bidding on eBay is just a form of procrastination.  Everything rockets up in the last 15 minutes (or less!) and you end up nowhere.  If you really want/need something then you are better off buying elsewhere.

Chris, you can use the same approach to buying the kit as you did to getting my cams. ;)

SP is excellent quality. They normally sell on ebay for around £50-£60 (retail is £150).
At that money, there is no comparison...

There will always be kits on ebay. Just keep bidding, but don't bid too high. Mine cost me £50, or there abouts...  ...but it took a few weeks of bidding.

Then again, hopefully mine will be back soon, and you are welcome to borrow of course :)

Couple of other bits you need in addition, are E20 1/2" drive to turn over crank (3/8" drive probably a bit small?), and a 30mm offset ring spanner.

and that is where I went wrong by buying a combination spanner that was only cranked.  :'(  
Fortunately work has since donated a suitable spanner for if/when i do it next.  ::)

I'll get taken down to the wood shed and shot for sure if I do that again, you should have seen / heard the fallout when she found out about the cams (note to self, do not leave self logged into email)

Forgive me for being dumb but but does anyone have a picture of such a spanner. I'm having problems visualising a cranked, offset spanner. This is to adjust the idler pullies while you have an allen key on the locking bolt, I assume?

It's just a deep offset ring spanner.  The ring is parallel to the handle, but offset 3-4cm.
