Sky+ HD Question
« on: 16 April 2010, 19:45:20 »

Hard drive is full yet again and have got some good series on that I would like to keep, Leverage, Lie To Me and some others etc.

I back them up to the hard drive on my DVD recorder allthough they never get written to disk.

Is there a way to set a collaped selection of Lie Yo Me for example, and record/backup the whole 7 showings one after the other rather than individually.  as if making them one contious recording rather than 7 single ones.

TIA.   :y

The box is more than capable of doing what you want, but the w*****s at Sky won't even think about enabling that feature unless the opposition do or they think there is money to be made.

If you want a Sky box that does what it should have from day one (eg, proper sized hard drive, network access enabled, etc) then PM me.

its not rocket science to put a new hard drive in, 1Tb drives work well and just slot in.

Use: http://www.skycopyplus.co.uk/ to backup your old drive

Is that to back up the old drive onto the new or just back the films up to watch them on the computer.

Backs them up to transfer onto another hard drive. Any DVD Burner can record shows off Sky HD box, but needs to be played back in real time, also scart output on the back is only SD.

Tunnie, do you know if there are any size limits on fitting even larger drives as they might come available, say 2TB which is readily available.

I have seen 1.5 Tb ones fitted, annoying due to the way the boxes are setup, Sky Anytime has to take a slice, even if its disabled through EPG.

I'd have a search here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/sky-hd/

Some drives work better than others, and require no fiddling, just a straight copy. Been meaning to upgrade ours, but never got around to it
