People parking on the grass/public footpath.
« on: 16 April 2010, 17:44:46 »

Outside my house there is a small green, with a pavements either side, a woman opposite bar a couple of doors is constantly parking across the grass and footpath. She has to travel across some grass to get to outside here house, then turn left across a path and yet more grass to reach outside her house. Now not only is she churning yp the grass and making it look an eye sore, she is driving across a public footpath. I've rang the council 4 times they keep saying they'll send someone round and never do, rang the police they said "oh it's a council matter ring them." Now what could I do to stop this happening, shes not the usual type we get moving here, everyone knows everyone and everyone looks out for each other she doesn't say anything to anyone. Now my road 99% of the time there is a place to park, there is also parking for residents out the back of their houses as there is for her and there is always a space for her but, she keeps parking on the grass.

Last time the mrs rang the council about a month ago now they said to her "Right ok, i'll put it across to the guy who covers your area and he'll do something about it." Nothing yet and this was a good month if not longer ago. Any ideas what we could do? Others are complaining too not just us.

Normally I would say try your MP --- they are next to useless but council's do generally jump when they get an MPs letter. However, since the dissolution of Parliament (at last!) you haven't got one!  Try after the election maybe.

Good thinking, maybe take it to the papers as bad publicity for the council?

Take some photos., send them to the local newspaper, with a letter saying the council and police are doing nothing about it.

Any ideas what we could do?
Probably a bit of a radical idea (especially in this day & age), but what's wrong with knocking on her door and telling her personally what the issue is?

If it has got to that stage, I sure as shit wouldn't be expecting the law to help me.
