You phone any insurance company up now and tell them you've made those kind of changes, and it will be a wonder if you ever get insured at all (even now we are middle aged).

Pretty much all the fun is gone these days, all we have now is people suing each other because they've been offended or hurt in some way  :-/

Kit cars are the answer. :y Can still insure pretty much anything once the concept of a standard spec. is out of the window anyway.

A mate of mine had an insurance renewal conversation that ended :

".. but you haven't asked me if it's turbocharged yet!"
"Is it, sir"
"Yep"
"OK. I've noted that"
"And?"
"It hasn't affected the premium"

Not a Ford fan, new or classic, but if I had the money and the space I might be tempted for this.

Muzzies & the like are gorgeous but BIG PENNIES. Modding 70's/80/s cars was fine back in the day same as some of us "fettle" our Migs a tad. I've had a few classics over the years & am used to being told what i should/could drop under the bonnet etc. but in my book this kind of misses the point. The whole appeal of these old motors is thier charm, they have a certain way about them...ok i admit it, it's nostalgic, a blast from the past, a rockabilly Heartbeat car that came from a gentler, quieter time, 49 years old.
It's a hobby, same as playing a sport, collecting, building, repairing....even being an Omega owner & much as we love our Migs how many will last that long? :y
