bad way to go.
« on: 26 April 2010, 22:00:04 »

had trouble getting to my first job today...

http://www.birminghammail.net/news/birmingham-news/2010/04/26/man-dies-after-car-crash-in-fort-parkway-erdington-97319-26318084/

strange thing that i noticed on passing the scene latter on in the day is the absolute lack of skid marks on the road...

couldnt work it out, had the driver watched too many movies?? :-?

According to the local news there was a Police Car behind, but doesn't say if they had Blues and Twos though.
There is an investigation being carried out by the Police Complaints but I think this is standard procedure these days when a Police vehicle is involved so nothing should be read into that.
As previously mentioned though it is not a difficult island to navigate even at speed......

In the report it says Seat Leon, and it was being persued by the Police.
If it is the sporty model I would suggest it had no insurance, like a lot of high performance cars that don't have insurance these days.
There was a report a year or so ago that said carslike porsches and bmw m3 etc. where the cars most likely to be uninsured  :o

old m3's i can see (theyre getting cheap to buy but still group 20) - but Porsches? aren't they mainly driven by older enthusiasts with money?

I'd guess the most common uninsured car is the kid driving "mum's" saxo - with the bodykit, splitters, wings, paintjob, tints, ice etc - yep - really looks like your mums car kid - can i see your licence and insurance please?  ;D ;D

Funnily enough BJ no it is not the Saxo etc. owners. I no we moan about these people more than most, but it is the young people with modified cars that DO insure them properly, as they no how much they have invested in there cars.

The porsche m3 etc. owners often have so many debts that insurance is conveniently forgotten.

I understand it sounds like a generalisation, but I am searching for the report.

Not from the actual report but:
"Young drivers using high-performance cars have even less incentive to insure their cars when fully comprehensive premiums cost up to £2,500."

And bear in mind anybody driving a porsche under 50 years of age is considered "young"
