Triathlon update
« on: 28 April 2010, 18:05:07 »

Most of you are aware I am gearing up for the London Triathlon which I am running for Victim Suppport.  Over the past few weeks the training has been stepped up and I completed a 'sprint' race today which comprised of 400m swim, 22km bike and 5 km run.  Total time a fairly average 1:24:34, about 10 mins off my best when I as in my 20s.  I have more races planned in the build-up.

Additionally I have brought 8 newcomers to the sport who now all have the 'bug' and want to do more.  The best part of this is that the newbies were of all ranks, builds and abilities but everyone gave their best.

The training at the moment comprises of daily swim sessions at 6am (ouch) then doing whatever PT I have to do for my job, wednesdays is a 2km run, 4.5km bike, run, bike, run (yuk) and weekends is either a bike ride or interval training.  Needless to say I am in bed by 9pm most nights fast asleep but with the 6-7000 calories I am burning a week the weight is dropping off!

I have decided to treat myself tonight, cider and pizzas! yum!

Thanks again to all who are supporting me, I'll be keeping you posted on here and on my JG page  :y
