muppet son just cost me £132

 >:( my son went down to brighton to see his girlfriend on friday night and was due to come home last night,we get a phone call last night saying"trains to london from brighton cancelled because of emergency repairs to a bridge" now too late to get a coach to london so he has to stay another night-very nice for him, -guess what , they won't accept last nights ticket so muggins here has to pay £132!!! to get the little sod home  >:( checked the local press ,and no mention of cancelled trains last night ,he sure is going to get his arse kicked when i have to pick him up from the station at 12.40 tonight  >:( well pissed off  >:(

If the story regarding the 'bridge repairs' is true (know what offsprings are like), then there should be no problems with acceptance of his ticket.

He needs to have a chat with a friendly conductor (like moi) and hey presto - the 'resumed' journey's a good 'un!

been online to the local brighton newspapers -no mention anywhere about train cancellations/bridge repairs  >:(

Sorry, how is this you're problem ?
If the Bridge issue stopped him getting him a train down there, I'd bet good money he'd have got there under his own steam/ingenuity  >:(

Unfortunately been there and got the tee-shirt etc. No comfort I know but its nothing out of the ordinary as I find out when I discuss my kids with my friends.

You've just gotta be careful not to drive them away. They need to be able to contact you when they need help and not hide it away. Not trying to preach just sharing experiences. :y
